I see cops marching thugs along the road. They meet their end without seeing the face of their killer, and I move on. Past that, I see three more cops, as they pistol-whip a bloodied resident into unconsciousness. OK, nevermind, that was still plenty rock. OK, less rock.Īnd.super-slow-mo, we plug the RPG with a bullet as it leaves the launcher RED-style, and the backblast blasts the chopper as we slide down and through a roof, as the chopper crashes and explodes above our head.
Then the third internal gunman steps up with an RPG. We move to cutscene (.Fuck.) as Max runs through buildings dodging fire, then leaps a railing and we go to bullet-time to cap the two external gunmen. I kill more cops (who are killing more thugs, which amuses me), but eventually catch the eye of a chopper and crew.

OK, I'm getting the rythem of cop-murder. We see them haul out a random guy and shoot him, then shoot another guy running, then a cop in a helmet moves up and gets two in the head, with his less-armored fellows only needing the one each.

I see Marcy and Gia being marched down the street into the cops, at gunpoint. (I kill the four of them, becuase why not?) Then.huh. I move on, and see more cops fighting with more thugs on a distant rooftop. OK, I can kill you all too, that's fine with me! (And add 3 cops to my kill list.) Greetings, officers! See how I aid you apprehend these criminals in accordance with the hue and cry you have-and you're shooting at me now. I see some cops in a firefight with thugs. Well, we've not had it proven that the cops are evil yet, so I suppose I'll go along with this and not try to trick the scripting into letting me kill the cops.

Max has a plan, now take advantage of the cop's offensive to sneak around and try to free Marcy and Gia. I know they're not mine they've got more than one bullet hole in them, and whatever amateur did this was aiming for center mass instead of embracing Headshot Purity. Max muses on the futilty of things, on how he keeps getting chances and blowing them, and wonders if it's fate. That drops him to his knees, but he's still whimper-sobbing a bit, so he gets one more good hit to the head and then shuts up.Īs Max exits the death shack, the sounds of war get closer, and we see helicopters and fleeing men. It doesn't knock him out, as you'd expect from the delivery of a climactic one-liner like that, so Max shrugs and pistol-whips him. ".I ain't quite as dumb as I seem!" "That's right, I might be a moron, but here's the thing-" There is a distant explosion, Max turns his head, Maybe-Serrano looks away for an instant, and Max grabs the gun and twists it around to point at him. He does keep shouting in Portugues, and I can make out "gringo" and "merda". He has similar hair, but it has been a while since I played.
